Chanel is continuing its longtime support of the Tribeca Film Festival with a new slate of Through Her Lens programming and events for 2026.
On June 7, new Through Her Lens advisory committee member Teyana Taylor will participate in a panel conversation as part of Tribeca’s Storytellers Series. During the ticketed public event, the Golden Globe-winning actress will discuss mentorship and creative leadership, as well as the importance of expanding opportunities for women storytellers.
“Joining the Through Her Lens advisory committee with Tribeca and Chanel felt personal to me because I know how powerful it is when women are given the space, support and confidence to fully step into their vision,” Taylor said in a statement about her participation. “That’s what Through Her Lens is about — empowering women to tell bold, honest stories in their own voice. I’m proud to be part of something with Chanel that’s creating that kind of lasting impact.”
The Tribeca festival celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, which also marks the 11th anniversary of the “Through Her Lens: The Tribeca Chanel Women’s Filmmaker Program” — and 20 years of collaboration between Chanel and Tribeca. Alumni of the program, which provides support and mentorship for emerging filmmakers, include A.V. Rockwell — whose directorial debut “A Thousand and One” starred Taylor in her first leading film role — and “Nanny” director Nikyatu Jusu. This year’s Tribeca festival will feature debuts from past participants Hannah Peterson and Lara Everly.
In addition to Taylor and Rockwell, the Through Her Lens advisory committee includes Jane Fonda, Patty Jenkins, Laura Karpman, Lucy Liu, Tessa Thompson, Kerry Washington and Olivia Wilde.
Submissions for the “Through Her Lens” program, slated for September, are currently open.
