Sustainable Accessory Innovations Unveiled at Denim PV in Milan


MILAN — The ninth edition of Denim Première Vision showcased the latest innovations for fall 2027.

At the trade show at Superstudio Più in Milan, specialists in finishes and accessories unveiled ornaments, buttons and closures, seen as key elements in shaping a product’s identity and supporting design teams in the development of new styles.

ACM, a Bergamo-based company with more than 40 years of experience in denim accessories, presented a range of finishes, including leather and regenerated materials with vintage treatments, metallic inserts in aged silver and gold, embroidery and personalized leather waistband labels.

Several innovations were showcased by Nexprinting, ACM’s fabric printing division. A standout technology was “Double Match,” a double-printing technology that enables different processes to be applied simultaneously on opposite sides of a fabric,  creating dynamic visual effects. The company also developed hybrid materials and tactile contrasts, such as denim-printed cotton canvases with leather-touch finishes. In performance textiles, it introduced “TechDenim,” a polyurethane membrane applied between recycled and printed leather for technical applications, including outerwear and ski apparel.

Aligned with the sustainability trend, Pakistan-based accessories manufacturer Jawaid Bross, which specializes in high-quality garment labels and branding solutions, presented its new “SavEarth” line, a dedicated range of garment trims made entirely from recycled and sustainably sourced materials. “The line includes Tencel lyocell woven labels and sustainable plant-based inks,” said Ahmed Jawaid, marketing director of the company. “The hangtags are 100 percent recyclable, and the labels are made from recycled cotton.”

The line included eco-friendly finished metal buttons in neutral tones carrying a LCA certification, indicating reduced CO2 emissions, chemical consumption, sludge generation, water usage and electricity consumption.

The company usually serves the denim, knits and home textile industries and offers a wide range of products including woven, printed and heat transfer labels, leather and rubber patches, metal buttons, and customized branding accessories. 

Another key player in the sustainability field is the Turkey-based company Kasiv Leather Label, specialized in transforming genuine and untreated leather into finished products while complying with environmental standards. Established in a 23,760-square-foot building near Istanbul, the company employs 85 people.

At the fair, it presented labels in a variety of shapes and finishes made from TPU (polyurethane leather)-based vegan leather, a premium synthetic, vegan leather made by coating a fabric base with TPU plastic. This material is known for its durability, elasticity and resistance to scratches, water and oils. It is also cruelty-free and highly recyclable.

“Customers are  increasingly seeking sustainable solutions, and we offer more than 70 sustainable materials from oils, apples, pineapples and oranges,” said Aysegül Özkan, account manager of the company. “For example, pineapple leather is crafted using cellulose fibers from discarded pineapple leaves, combined with renewable resources like corn-based polylactic acid.”
